Detalhes técnicos
O Markdown utiliza caracteres de texto simples para formatacao: # para titulos, * para enfase, [] para links, ``` para blocos de codigo. O CommonMark (2014) formalizou a especificacao. O GFM adiciona tabelas, listas de tarefas e realce de sintaxe.
Histórico
John Gruber e Aaron Swartz criaram o Markdown em 2004 como um formato de escrita facil de ler e escrever. Desde entao, variantes como GitHub Flavored Markdown (GFM) e CommonMark padronizaram a sintaxe para diferentes plataformas.
